Genuine Music Birthday News
Earlier this month Genuine celebrated its 13th Birthday, and after a long track record we hope you agree that we have built a solid business with a reputation for delivering straight answers, strong solutions, and consistently punching above our weight.
With a strong family and personal background in the music industry, Director Chris Hunt founded the business in Glasgow after 8 years working in top London fashion & lifestyle media and agencies, with Genuine’s unique take to highlight the connections between Music and Fashion & Interior Design, with Destinations & the Drinks & Hospitality industries.
Our testimonials show we have become known for quietly and sensibly producing out of the box campaigns for brands and events, from placing emerging artists in key media, producing flash mob gigs in Central Park; trusted by journalists, influencers, bloggers, artists, managers, production and sponsors alike.
Over the last thirteen years we have worked with clients and artists from Pam Hogg to Paolo Nutini, launched PCL’s first new festival experiences, and have run gig, artist and concert PR including Anthony & the Johnstons and Edith Bowman.
Looking back Chris & others over the years have also taught in Colleges and lectured at Universities, we have put on our own shows with Scottish Ballet and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra at City Halls, promoted sponsorship, broadcast media and line-up activities for all kinds of Scottish festivals, and grassroots music projects such as twice weekly gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow to provide new bands with their first assets, launching and working on the PR for the Miller Music and the Kopparberg Collective for years.
Let’s not forget also fund-raising, operating, promoting and doing PR for new Scottish artists such as what were then Nina Nesbitt’s first gigs in New York City, and of course developing the PR for the Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy in Scotland annual charity fundraiser into the Scottish Music Awards over ten years to 2016.
In 2017 we worked directly for the Scottish Music Industry Association to deliver the PR for The SAY Award, sponsored by our other clients and colleagues at organisations such as Creative Scotland and Renfrewshire Council, from our studio within SWG3; Glasgow’s newest live music and arts facility, and home to regular gigs and dance events from The XX to LCD Soundsystem.
Genuine’s journey into 2018 continues to be an action packed musical adventure which also takes in all forms of creative industry including film, fashion, tech and textiles, including our new relationship with XpoNorth, which takes place on 27th and 28th of June in Inverness. We are also delighted to share that we have joined forces with Dundee based MCPR Scotland in providing the PR campaign for this year’s SAY Award.
Thanks to everyone who’s supported and believed in us and our new artists and ideas along the way, and to all our friends in media and to all our clients - we look forward to seeing you all out there for Summer 2018 & beyond!
